GameCube Version |
New Play Control! Pikmin is the re-release of the cult classic Pikmin on the Wii as part of the New Play Control! series.
Problems
Crash
The game may crash randomly with the OpenGL backend, use D3D to avoid this.
PAL Version
Since the new Zelda HLE merge, the Wii PAL version of Pikmin 1 (R9IP01) doesn't boot with the HLE audio backend. Refer issue 8968.
Template:SSound IssuesTemplate:/s
When using DSP HLE, sound effects are distorted and the volume is extremely high. Use DSP LLE to fix these. Should be fixed with 4.0-7286.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.

Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Pikmin since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
r4089 | Windows XP | Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 2.13GHz | NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT | The graphics are perfect with no bugs and the game always runs at full speed (50/60FPS). This game doesn't need a hefty PC to run at full speed, i have the audio throttle enabled to keep the game at a steady speed so it doesn't run at 80FPS.
The audio is good but can be buggy sometimes. You can create a save game and play right through the game as you would on a Wii. Pikmin Wii (NPC) on Dolphin Wii/GC Emulator (720p HD) |

r7128 | Windows 7 | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 896MB | Tested NA version, runs fine, with minimal glitches. Some slowdown, but very playable. Tested through start of second level. Occasional nasty slowdown after changing to fullscreen, difficult to replicate. Shadow flicker on some grass types. Some sound crackling with DSP HLE. | MaJoR |
r7408 | Windows 7 | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 896MB | Runs better in r7408, but still has some glitches. Slowdown at start of a stage and flicker with grass are both gone. Sound crackling remains. Observed nasty slowdown when turning on "EFB Enable CPU Access". | MaJoR |
