BlowOut is a run-and-gun shoot-em-up in the tradition of games such as Contra and Metal Slug, with a power-up-based exploration structure akin to Metroid. In the game, the player takes the role of John "Dutch" Cane, a space marine sent to check up on researchers on the space platform "Honour Guard" only to discover that they have been horribly mutated.
There are no reported problems with this title.
Dolphin's Widescreen Hack produces vertical black bars to the left and right of the player character. This Gecko code alternately accounts for 16:9 display.
Textures on geometry close to the screen appear black with IR>1, disable "Scaled EFB Copy" to correct this.

Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
4.0-2069 | Windows 7 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 | Runs full speed but needs some settings to be tweaked.
Firstly, on the Graphics → Hacks tab "Skip EFB Access from CPU needs to be checked, otherwise the error "EFB:Poke Z not implemented (tried to poke z value 0xffffff at (0,0))" appears and the game freezes at the first screen. Secondly, on Graphics → Enhancements tab, uncheck "Scaled EFB Copy" and "Widescreen Hack". The first makes textures on geometry close to the screen to appear black and the second produces vertical black bars to the left and right of the player character. |
