Will you have what it takes to become the new king of the beasts? In Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest explore a number of different environments while consuming other animals to evolve into one of 100 possible creature combinations. Also, by collecting different items you can have access to stronger body parts such as horns and fangs, which can give you the edge in this dog-eat-dog world. However, no creature lives forever, so you’ll need to pass on your strongest traits to your offspring and the circle of life will begin again. Ultimately, the goal is to become powerful enough to topple the alpha creature and earn your rightful place at the top of the food chain.

Problems

Screen Shifted Left

When using 16:9 mode the display is shifted to the left showing a black bar on the right hand side. This can be corrected by setting External Frame Buffer to Virtual. Fixed with Hybrid XFB in 5.0-5874.

Enhancements

16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix

The built-in Widescreen Hack causes the background to appear pillar-boxed, and menu text to be misaligned. The following AR code works as a replacement, causing fewer issues. To avoid conflicts, make sure that Widescreen Hack is disabled while using this code.

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
r7420 Mac OS X 10.6.7 Intel Core i3 @3.2GHz ATI Radeon HD 5670 Works perfectly, never saw it dip below 100% speed.
4.0-2014 Windows 7 Intel Core i7 @ 4GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Again, runs perfectly, but does not center properly in windowed mode, nor fullscreen mode with the aspect ratio set to Force 16:9 and Stretch to Window.
4.0-4667 Ubuntu 14.10 Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Perfect with default settings. Displays off-center in aspect ratio Force 16:9 without XFB: Virtual. Nothing appears to display incorrectly with Texture Cache Accuracy: Fast. I didn't notice a single issue with gameplay, HLE works great and the game runs at constant 100% speed. Played through five or six zones without any problems. Xerxes
5.0-1127 Windows 10 Intel Core i7-3930K @ 3.8GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Game runs perfectly with no issues, though in addition to setting XFB to Virtual I needed to set ForceProgressive to True in the Video_Hacks section of the game config. Additionally, I found a widescreen AR code that works perfectly. Techjar
