Custom Robo, known in Japan as Custom Robo Battle Revolution (カスタムロボ バトルレボリューション, Kasutamu Robo Batoru Reboryūshon), is a 2004 action RPG developed by Noise and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. It is the fourth title of the Custom Robo series and the first to be released outside of Japan.

Custom Robo uses a real time battle system with the goal of obtaining better Robos and parts to improve your game. In additional to the traditional RPG like "Story Mode" from previous games in the franchise, Custom Robo also adds "Arena" and "Grand Battle" (tournament) modes.

Problems

Crashing

Certain parts of the game tend to crash (i.e. the part near the end with the twins). This can be fixed by disabling "Enable Dual Core" and "Enable Idle Skipping" under Options->Configure->General and enabling "Skip EFB Access from CPU" under Options->Graphics->Hacks.

Configuration

No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title.

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
r7435 Windows 7 x64 AMD Athlon II 1075T nVidia 460 GTX Must be run in DX11 or OpenGL to have any visual. Works great including multiplayer.
r7584 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i7-2820QM @ 2.3GHz AMD Radeon HD 6970M Video runs perfectly with DX11. Background music glitches, but no effect to the game. Slowdown only outside of battle during cut-scenes. Battles run perfectly. sol
3.0-235 Windows 7 x64 AMD Phenom II X6 ATI Radeon HD 5750 Needs DX11 or OpenGL. Runs great, but occasionally locks up randomly. Savestate often and restart the game, then go back to the save state. The Twins scene, which normally crashes, works if "Skip EFB access from CPU" is on in graphics settings.
4.0.1 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i5-3350p nVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti FPS drops to 40-50 if more than two robos are on the screen. Exact extent depends on the specific holoseum being used. Gameplay is otherwise a silky smooth 60 FPS. Game didn't crash once, even during the twins scene, without special configuration (i.e. Skip EFB access not enabled, and dual core enabled). I noticed a minor graphic glitch during battle - During a rebirth robos tend to run around in place for less than a second in random directions - But don't actually move. ErinsonMan
4.0.2 Windows 8.1 x64 (extra info I have 8GB RAM installed) Intel Core i5-2410M @2.30GHz Intel HD Graphics 3000 Needs DX11 else you will get textures missing. Works fine stable FPS. But FPS drops when doing double battles Warlordsander
