Donkey Kong Country Returns, known as Donkey Kong Returns (ドンキーコング リターンズ?) in Japan, is a side-scrolling 2.5D platform game developed by Retro Studios, and released by Nintendo for the Wii console on November 21, 2010 in North America. It is the series' first traditional home console installment since Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and also the first Donkey Kong Country entry not to involve Rare during the development
Problems
Odd Primary Colored Halo
Sometime bananas and other objects get an odd primary colored halo (typically red), refer issue 2068. In game this can be addressed by briefly visiting the Wii home screen and then exiting back to the game, but such doesn't work during the title screens.
Cut-off Sound
Sound effects sometimes stop working, but will typically restart in later levels.
Odd Off-putting Sounds
Odd erroneous sounds will sometimes endlessly repeat, particularly when beginning a level. This can be addressed by briefly visiting the Wii home screen and then exiting back to the game.
Random Freezing
Random freezing, particularly during level loading screens, "Lock threads to core" corrects for this, refer issue 3576.
Low Resolution DK
If "EFB to RAM" is used Donkey Kong will appear blocky and pixelated, "EFB to Texture" corrects for this.
Garbled Text
Garbled text can be fixed using "Fast" "Safe Texture Cache".
Super Guide May Die
The Super Guide may fail or die because the game and Super Guide recordings fall out of sync. Fortunately, the game continues as if he won.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
