Epic Mickey (frequently referred to as Disney Epic Mickey) is a Mickey Mouse video game designed by Warren Spector, with 2D cinemas by Powerhouse Animation Studios, Inc. and developed by Junction Point Studios for the Wii console, using Emergent Game Technologies' Gamebryo Engine. Epic Mickey is part of an effort by The Walt Disney Company to re-brand the Mickey Mouse character by moving away from his current pleasant, cheerful image and reintroducing the more devious side of his personality. Spector has collaborated with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar in conjunction with the project.
Epic Mickey is primarily an open-ended platform game with some RPG elements, and allows players to use their own solutions for getting through the levels. Epic Mickey features a morality system similar to games like inFAMOUS and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. Different alliances, side-quests and power-ups are made available depending on the actions of the player. It is also possible to avoid boss battles if specific actions are taken.
Its popularity lead to a sequel: Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.

Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
r6546 | Ubuntu 10.10 | Intel Core i7-920 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 | Mostly fine. The occasional garbled font character even with safe texture on. Had some freezes on the first area but it seems to be fine after that. Sound sometimes cuts out or music stutters (I think going into the menu by pressing 2 and back out fixes it). EFB Scale must be 2x to stop videos corrupting. | |
r7120 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom X6 1090T | ATI Radeon HD 4770 | Occasional garbled font character even with safe texture on; some freezes on the first area; sound sometimes cuts out or music stutters. The game runs perfectly in 1080p. | |
r7670 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2500K @ 4.1 GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6850 | Runs 100% for the most part. Music occasionally cuts out. Graphical line glitches during the intro movie are still present. | MegaJump |
4.0-5489 | Windows 8.1 | Intel Core i7-3630QM @ 2.4 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M | Perfect, constant 30FPS all the time | mbc07 |
5.0 | Windows 10 | AMD FX 6350 @ 3.9 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 | OpenGL, HLE, 3xNative, 8xMSAA, 1xAF
Practically perfect. Rarely dips below 30FPS |
GAMMA |
5.0-15993 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.8 GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6770 | Direct3D 11, 3xNative, 1xAF, 1x MSAA. Almost perfect. The game runs at a constant 30 FPS, though there is brief stuttering when entering cutscenes and sometimes when loading new areas. | SpectraNocturne |
