Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (GC)
|Ice Age 2: The Meltdown|
|Developer(s)||Vivendi Games, Eurocom, Amaze Entertainment|
|Release date(s)||NA March 14, 2006|
EU March 31, 2006
|Input methods||GameCube Controller|
In Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Scrat is caught up in the events of the film, Ice Age: The Meltdown and is trying to pursue acorns while interacting with some characters, some of whom help him in his quest. The game starts off by showing the icy areas where it began in the film and moving on to the woods, as well as exploring regions in the games such as the bowels of the sea reptile, Maelstrom, and swampy lands. In the game, Scrat occasionally allies himself with some of the main characters, and the player sometimes can play as either Sid or Diego, though not Manny. Characters which were shown as bit parts in the film are shown usually as adversaries or (in the case of one, a songbird) a guide to the next nut, though a select number of foes were not shown in the film at all.
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (GC) has a native 16:9 display option, but it requires enabling it in its internal options and setting Dolphin's Aspect Ratio graphics setting to "Auto". Using the widescreen hack with this title is not recommended.
Glowing white bars will sometimes obscure the screen. This can be avoided by disabling Defer EFB Copies to RAM.
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
|Defer EFB Copies to RAM||Off||Avoid overlapping white bars|
The graph below charts the compatibility with Ice Age 2: The Meltdown since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
|r7714||Windows 7||Intel Core i3-370M @ 2.4 GHz||ATI Radeon HD 6370M||Problems with graphics. Top 3/4 of the screen are bleached. Spin attack effect results in white block across middle of screen.|
|3.0-179||Windows 7||Intel Core i3-370M @ 2.4 GHz||ATI Radeon HD 6370M||Fully playable: No slowdowns, no known glitches.|
|5.0-19306||Windows 11||AMD Ryzen 9 7900X @ 4.7 GHz||AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT||6x Native Resolution (4K) with 8xMSAA. No performance issues, but the bottom half of the screen is completely covered by white which sometimes fixes itself after playing for a while, but nonetheless makes the game difficult to complete.||DanielMYT7|
