Interactive Multi Game Demo Disc v5 is a playable demo disc for the Nintendo GameCube system. Playable games include Star Fox Adventures, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Beach Spikers. Video previews include Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, and Disney's Magical Mirror starring Mickey Mouse.

Emulation Information

Improper GameCube Font

Due to copyright concerns Dolphin is unable to include official GameCube fonts, and instead uses Droid Sans. Unfortunately Droid Sans does not align well with the size/kerning of the official GameCube font, which can cause text to be misplaced, dialogs to display improperly, and other issues due to augmented text sizes.

This can be corrected by including a region appropriate GameCube IPL (i.e. BIOS ROM) under <Dolphin User Folder>/GC/. A GameCube "IPL.bin" can be acquired from a real GameCube using Swiss. Refer issue 8362. GameCube BIOS files used by Dolphin are named "IPL.bin", but may have other titles depending on their source, and should be 2,097,152 bytes in size. One exists for each major GameCube region (JP, NA, EU). The known BIOS CRC32 checksums below can be used to validate files, but variations with other checksums may exist.

Problems

Star Fox Adventures Shadows

In D3D, shadows may appear distorted, or even be copied from other objects, such as Fox with an arwing shaped shadow while near the ship. OpenGL has had shadowing issues in the past, but seems to work properly. If you still see issues, try toggling fast-depth; as some GPUs may vary.

Star Fox Adventures Glow Effects

Glow effects render poorly with EFB Copies to Texture Only on all backends. Disable EFB Copies to Texture Only to fix them.

Super Monkey Ball 2 Freeze

Super Monkey Ball 2 will freeze after advancing past the title screen, enable FPRF to avoid it.

Super Monkey Ball 2 Missing Shadows

Shadows will be missing when not using Fast Depth Calculation, enable it to show them.

Beach Spikers Shadow/Stuck

Beach Spikers has odd shadow issues and the game will get stuck during a match if FPRF isn't enabled.

Beach Spikers Flicker (Vulkan/DirectX)

Certain visual elements flicker when visible, disabling Fast Depth may help. Refer issue 10007.
