Kururin Squash! is an action-puzzle video game developed by Eighting and published by Nintendo. It was released only in Japan on October 14, 2004. The game is the successor to Kururin Paradise and is the only title of the Kururin series with 3D computer graphics.

GBA Link Support

This game has GBA Link features that are properly emulated using VBA-M and Dolphin.

Problems

Garbage Text

The game will show garbage text rather than Japanese by default, to fix this simply tick the box under Config > Display that says "Set Console to NTSC-J"

Sound Issues and Freezes

Sound desynchs frequently on HLE (newer 2014 builds not tested yet) causing the game to often crash, the music looping incorrectly, with instruments missing, or garbage sound effects randomly playing. Despite these issues, the game can be finished.

Abnormally Thin Text

With the emulator default options, the font displays extremely thin (1 pixel) as opposed to it showing properly on real hardware as a thick font with grey pixels around the edges. This may be a problem with Dolphin's included font files; dumping fonts from a console may solve the issue. Fixed by 4.0-5097.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
