Mario Party 8 (マリオパーティ8 Mario Pāti Eito) is a party video game and the eighth installment in the Mario Party series (tenth in Japan). It is the first title in the series to be released for the Wii and the first Mario Party title to have the ability to use Mii characters.
Problems
Template:SPaint MinigamesTemplate:/s
Painting minigames ("Speedy Graffiti" and "Breakneck Building") have weird glitches depending on the graphics backend and other settings.
- With EFB Copies to Texture Only on all backends, paint will work properly, but will not disappear when it should and builds up constantly. Speedy Graffiti can be completed regardless of this, but Breakneck Building cannot.
- With EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled in OpenGL, the paint will slide off to the right of the screen. Both minigames can be completed however.
To play the painting minigames accurately use D3D11 with EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled. See issue 5477. Fixed by 4.0-595.
Enhancements
16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix
The built-in Widescreen Hack causes Board Clipping and Reflection Issues. The following Gecko code works as a replacement, causing less issues. To avoid conflicts, make sure that Widescreen Hack is disabled while using this code. The 16:9 included in the game only works in menus and the title screen so a Widescreen fix is necessary.
