Mario Party 8 (マリオパーティ8 Mario Pāti Eito) is a party video game and the eighth installment in the Mario Party series (tenth in Japan). It is the first title in the series to be released for the Wii and the first Mario Party title to have the ability to use Mii characters.

Problems

Paint minigames

Painting minigames ("Speedy Graffiti" and "Breakneck Building") have weird glitches depending on backend and settings.

  • With EFB to Texture on all backends, the paint will work properly, but the paint will not disappear when it should and build up constantly. Speedy Graffiti can be completed regardless, but Breakneck Building cannot be cleared with EFB to Texture.
  • With EFB to Ram in D3D9 and OpenGL, the paint will slide off to the right of the screen. Both minigames can be completed however.

To play the painting minigames accurately use D3D11 with EFB to Ram. See issue 5477.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
