Muramasa: The Demon Blade is an action role playing game developed by Vanillaware and published by Marvelous Entertainment in Japan, Rising Star Games in Europe, and Ignition Entertainment in North America for the Wii. The game was released in Japan on April 9, 2009, in North America on September 8, 2009, and in Europe on November 27, 2009.
Muramasa follows the story of Kisuke, a fugitive who has lost his memory, including that of a crime that he committed and Momohime, a lithe female ronin possessed by a dark spirit. Gameplay allows players to use the Wii Remote, the Classic controller and the GameCube controller. The game allows players to use two different characters and features three difficulty levels.
Problems
Hanging
The game suffers from random hangs. Save often. Try to enable JIT recompiler.
The hangs appear to only happen when the kite ninjas are onscreen for too long. Savestate when you see them and kill them first.
Black/Inverted Textures
In some revisions, transparent textures appear black, or negative, refer issue 1521.
Texture Alignment
Texture alignment issues in the game menus can be resolved by setting the internal resolution to Auto (Multiple of 640x528)
Sword Hilts do not change color as swords are changed
Set the Texture Cache Accuracy to one click left of Fast (position 3 of 4, where 4 is Fast)
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
Graphics
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
Internal Resolution | Auto (Multiple of 640x528) | Avoids texture alignment issues |
Texture Cache Accuracy | Position 3 | Corrects coloration of sword hilts |
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Muramasa: The Demon Blade since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
