The Sims 3 allows you to immerse your unique Sims in an open living neighborhood right outside their door. The initial feature-set unveiled includes the new seamless, open neighborhood, new Create-A-Sim, new realistic personalities (every Sim is a unique person, with a distinct personality) and new unlimited customization, You can customize everything!

Problems

Censor Effect

Under Direct3D, when active, the censor effect can cause slight graphical corruption. It will return back to normal when the censor effect is no longer on-screen. It can even crash Dolphin after a message box about "CreateTexture failed" or "Poke Z not implemented". Use OpenGL to avoid this problem.

The censor is also not in the right spot under Direct3D. OpenGL renders correctly.

The censor effect may cause VPS slow-down no matter what backend. Enable "Skip EFB Access from CPU" to fix this, although it will allow you to see your Sims like a nude Barbie doll. This also prevents graphical corruption under Direct3D.

Fixed some time before 5.0-2462.

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
5.0-21088 Windows 11 AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6 GHz NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Runs a mostly consistent 30fps (US version) with some dropped frames. Plummets to 12~22fps in View Town. The Multiplayer menu causes the Wii Remote speaker to output static. Hard to tell how much of these are faults with the game itself.

Setting "Clock Override" to 160%, the highest I got before music got distorted, made the 30fps more consistent (notwithstanding section loads), and View Town reached 20~30fps.
