Drop in and conquer the massive, living mountain rife with ego-crushing challenges and gravity-bending thrills. SSX 3 (Snowboard Super Cross 3) returns with more slopes and all-new hazards to overcome including lightning storms, vertical drops, serpentine slopestyle courses and avalanches. Customize your rider's clothes, abilities, and moves. Pull off three levels of awesome "Uber tricks." Dominate the mountain. It's a long way down, so make sure you're ready for the challenge.
SSX 3 has a native 16:9 display option, but it requires enabling it in its internal options and setting Dolphin's Aspect Ratio graphics setting to "Auto". Using the widescreen hack with this title is not recommended. This title's "16:9" option will output a 16:9 image on a 4:3 display and is generally not desirable, the "Anamorphic" option will display widescreen output appropriately.
Light Halos Disappearing
When getting close to sources of light, the "bloom halo" will disappear. This means that light sources appear to pop out of existence as you get closer to them. Strangely enough, this occurs on console.
Sun Shines Through
The sun will show even through obstacles and terrain, which can be observed while riding through small caves or forests.
Uncheck "Skip EFB Access to CPU" in order to allow sun occlusion to work correctly.
SSX 3 uses the VP6 video codec, common in Electronic Arts' titles, causing its videos to have vertical line artifacts and other glitches on many graphics cards. The Software Render will display VP6 video correctly, but is typically too slow. VP6 rendering also reacts poorly to the Force Texture Filtering enhancements (and Anisotropic Filtering on NVIDIA), causing further scrambling. See . In or newer, this can be fixed with "Manual Texture Sampling" in the Graphics Settings -> Advanced menu.
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
|Off||Appropriately display sun|
|On||Render VP6 video|
The graph below charts the compatibility with SSX 3 since Dolphin'srelease, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
|Windows 7||Intel Core i7-3720QM @ 2.6 GHz||NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M||Game runs smoothly at 60FPS, no audio problems. My optimal settings: Internal Resolution: 3x Native, Anisotropic Filtering: 16x, Fullscreen Resolution 2800x1800, DSP Emulator Engine: DSP LLE recompiler, Audio Backend: XAudio2. All other Dolphin settings are set to default.||Pyro Paper Planes|
|Windows XP||Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3 GHz||ATI FireGL V5600||Working||DeniSSXRus|
|Windows 7||AMD FX-8120||AMD Radeon HD 6870||No background music. Game only launches with DSP HLE Emulation||Wally Z|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5 @ 2.88 GHz||ATI Radeon HD 5850||Sound gets very choppy sometimes and framerate drops a bit sometimes, especially on mid-race and race start, but perfect otherwise. Using DSP LLE Recompiler.||ImpishRazor|
|Windows 8 Customer Preview||AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.8 GHz||AMD Radeon HD 6950||Most sounds (radio big and such) don't play without DSP LLE, but even with that enabled, the sound becomes extremely choppy. I'd stick to HLE if you wanted to play this game.||c3ntury9|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i7-920 @ 2.67 GHz||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660||Game runs smoothly at 60FPS, with some minor issues with the music and garbled videos. No obvious difference between HLE and LLE audio.|
|Windows 10||Intel Core i7-4790K||AMD R9 390||Only vids is under glitch. Everything is perfect.||H.A.L|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5-3750K||AMD R9 290||The entire game, videos, in-game graphics, sounds seems to be perfect. 60FPS and widescreen with no hacks necessary. Slight hitching once in awhile, probably due to shader caching.||JJJ|
