Drop in and conquer the massive, living mountain rife with ego-crushing challenges and gravity-bending thrills. SSX 3 (Snowboard Super Cross 3) returns with more slopes and all-new hazards to overcome including lightning storms, vertical drops, serpentine slopestyle courses and avalanches. Customize your rider's clothes, abilities, and moves. Pull off three levels of awesome "Uber tricks." Dominate the mountain. It's a long way down, so make sure you're ready for the challenge.

Problems

Audio

With HLE audio emulation significant portions of sounds are not playing. Use DSP LLE to fix it. Even with LLE, there are some minor glitches with the ingame music.

Sun Slowdown

Any time the ingame sun is on screen, slowdown occurs on weaker systems. Enabling "Skip EFB Access to CPU" can alleviate this, but it breaks many effects and it is not recommended.

Sun Shines Through

The sun will show even through obstacles and terrain, which can be observed while riding through small caves or forests.

VP6 Videos

Videos are messed up, appearing scrambled, refer issue 5046. Although this was addressed in 4.0-593, video playback is still not perfect. Disabling anisotropic filtering will reduce, but not eliminate, the scrambling.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.

Graphics

Config Setting Notes
Skip EFB Access from CPU On Corrects issue where any time the sun is in view framerate drops to single-digits

Audio

Config Setting Notes
DSP Emulator Engine LLE Corrects sounds which aren't played under HLE

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
r7621 Windows XP x86 Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3GHz ATI FireGL V5600 Working DeniSSXRus
r7621 Windows 7 x64 AMD FX-8120 AMD Radeon HD 6870 No background music. Game only launches with DSP HLE Emulation Wally Z
r7688 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i5 @ 2.88GHz ATI Radeon HD 5850 Sound gets very choppy sometimes and framerate drops a bit sometimes, especially on mid-race and race start, but perfect otherwise. Using DSP LLE Recompiler. ImpishRazor
3.0-578 Windows 8 Customer Preview x64 AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.8GHz AMD Radeon HD 6950 Most sounds (radio big and such) don't play without DSP LLE, but even with that enabled, the sound becomes extremely choppy. I'd stick to HLE if you wanted to play this game. c3ntury9
^3.0 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i7-3720QM @ 2.6GHz NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M Game runs smoothly at 60FPS, no audio problems. My optimal settings: Internal Resolution: 3x Native, Anisotropic Filtering: 16x, Fullscreen Resolution 2800x1800, DSP Emulator Engine: DSP LLE recompiler, Audio Backend: XAudio2. All other Dolphin settings are set to default. Pyro Paper Planes
4.0-5944 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i7-920 @ 2.67GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Game runs smoothly at 60FPS, with some minor issues with the music and garbled videos. No obvious difference between HLE and LLE audio.
