SSX Blur is a snowboarding and skiing video game. It is the fifth installment in the SSX series. The soundtrack was created by Junkie XL and is played through the in-game radio station, "Radio BIG".

Problems

VP6 Videos

SSX Blur uses the VP6 video codec, common in Electronic Arts' titles, causing its videos to have vertical line artifacts and other glitches on many graphics cards. The Software Render will display VP6 video correctly, but is typically too slow. VP6 rendering also reacts poorly to the Force Texture Filtering enhancements (and Anisotropic Filtering on NVIDIA), causing further scrambling. See issue 7193. In 5.0-15515 or newer, this can be fixed with "Manual Texture Sampling" in the Graphics Settings → Advanced menu.

Loading Screens

Loading screens can suffer from some graphics corruption in the lower half when scaling above native is used.

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
3.0 Windows 7 AMD Athlon II X4 645 @ 3.1GHz ATI Radeon HD 4250 Unplayable! The game seems to have a lot of graphics issues. I can't even get to make a save so I can at least have a banner for this one.
r7719 Windows 7 Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 3GHz ATI Radeon FireGL 5600 Working with two bugs: sometimes the fog is much thicker and I do not see anything. Sometimes the character disappears completely, so that can only be seen ski or snowboard. DeniSSXRus
3.0-370 Windows 7 Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 3GHz ATI Radeon FireGL 5600 Working without bugs because 3.0-370 has "Scaled EFB Copy" option, but speed is 80-90% DeniSSXRus
4.0-5422 Windows 8.1 Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 3.5GHz AMD Radeon HD 7750 Fullspeed DeniSSXRus
4.0-8400 Windows 7 Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.8GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Plays correctly. JMC47
