In an effort to cause the kind of global mayhem he has always dreamed of, the evil Plankton has set in motion his most diabolical plot ever to take over the world in SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom . The fate of Bikini Bottom has been put in the hands (or small tentacles) of three unsuspecting heroes. Put your platform skills to the test as SpongeBob, Patrick, or Sandy Cheeks, with an array of insane new maneuvers and power-ups at your disposal. Explore a huge 3D world, encounter familiar friends, and finally put an end to Plankton's evil scheme.

Problems

Blue Box

The blue outline of a box appears over the upper left corner of the screen.

Odd Floors

Oddly lite triangles appear around a square beneath Spongebob's feet.

Enhancements

Red Triangles Fix

Translucent red flat planes appear on the ground in many areas. This minor graphical glitch doesn't affect game play. This effect may be mitigated by playing with anti-aliasing on D3D11, or solved entirely by playing at 1x Internal Resolution with no AA.

The following Action Replay code can be used with the NTSC version of the game to disable the red shapes, regardless of settings, but will also disable most character shadows and some other 2D graphical elements:

NTSC

04017B18 480000F0

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
r4492 Windows 7 Intel Core i3 @ 2.53GHz Intel GMA X4500HD Freezes at "Loading..." screen CoolKirby
r7719 Windows 7 Intel Core i3 @ 2.53GHz Intel GMA X4500HD Playable, minor graphical and sound issues CoolKirby
3.0-235 Mac OS X 10.7.3 Intel Core i5 @ 2.7GHz AMD Radeon HD 6770M Graphical errors render the game virtually unplayable. That is, if you're lucky enough to even get the game past the main menu. Swiftwinter
3.0-651 Windows 7 Intel Core i5 @ 2.9GHz Intel HD Graphics 3000 Cutscene audio cuts out. Otherwise runs playably at 18-30FPS. (14-30FPS During Boss Fights) ACE013
3.0-692 Windows 7 AMD Phenom II X4 810 ATI Radeon HD 4600 Works fine, but a lot of lag spikes. Cutscene audio is out of sync, maybe because of the FPS issues that I'm getting. Goldtex
3.5-1344 Windows 7 AMD Phemon II X4 955 @ 3.2GHz AMD Radeon HD 6850 Menus run normally and at full speed. Upon entering game, constant rhythmic lag spikes. Otherwise running fine. WinCamXP
4.0.2 Windows 7 Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.4GHz AMD Radeon HD 7970 D3D9 & OGL cause the top left of the screen to be chewed up by a black & white rendering of Spongebob. Red triangles do not appear at 1x Resolution + No AA, but I'd personally take red triangles over 480p any day. AA reduces the effect on higher resolutions, but causes it on 1x. Otherwise, it plays like a charm. WinCamXP
4.0-4963 Xubuntu 14.04 AMD A10-5800K @ 3.8GHz AMD Radeon HD 7660D 1440x900 Full Speed, Sometimes drops to 48FPS in cutscenes. Be very careful with settings and game settings, turn speed up disc transfer rate off and skip EFB access from CPU off. iBloodLust
^4.0.2 Mac OS X 10.11.2 Intel Core i5 @ 2.4GHz Intel HD Graphics 3000 Lots of problems even if you do the lowest settings you can have for playable gameplay it mostly averages 30 fps (which causes stuff like audio so slow hard to hear) it makes it hard to hear music and dialogue but thats minor , its playable if you use a low tech pc like me. mgracer48
4.0-9175 Mac OS X 10.11.2 Intel Core i5 @ 2.4GHz Intel HD Graphics 3000 Game doesn't even start mgracer48
