**If you make a configuring controllers article, please make sure you don't do anything subjective. I'll explain. The problem with controller config suggestions on game pages is that controller configuration is subjective. For example, a gamecube controller and especially a wiimote don't map 1 to 1 onto an Xbox 360 controller. How someone maps a wiimote onto their controller is entirely up to personal taste; it's subjective. Furthermore, not everyone is going to be using a 360 controller (or even use the same drivers for a 360 controller). So "button 1" on one controller will mean something entirely different on another. For this reason control configuration suggestions on game pages are something that rather bug me, because they are more or less useless. Still, I think there could be some value to having a configuring controllers article if it focuses on the process of configuring and not on the end result. It could make things a little simpler for people. So, please keep this in mind if you make the article. MaJoR 22:20, 8 March 2012 (CET)
It would be good if we could provide some description around the "Mic" option under the GC controller settings. I've never been clear on it's purpose, but have been presuming it's a mic on/off switch. Kolano (talk) 20:58, 17 October 2013 (CEST)

I'm not really sure this is the best place for that, but I'll ask what it does exactly in the IRC sometime. - MayImilae (talk) 22:07, 17 October 2013 (CEST)
**I have some suggestions for improving it. It would be really hard to say it all so I'm going to go ahead and add them. Feel free to change it to your liking.

"This explains in detail how to connect a WiiMote to the Dolphin-emulator." *facepalm* wrong wrong wrong wrong. This article is about configuring controllers (GCpad and Wiimote, not just wiimote). Connecting controllers was specifically excluded from the page, because it's too complicated for the wiki to cover. In ideal situations, you just tell it to pair up a wiimote and you're done. But what about the dozens of dozens of different controllers that can be used for GCpad, what about generic wiimotes, or what if wiimotes don't work as expected? WAY too much material for this wiki. So, I say we keep "connecting controllers" information off the wiki, or keep it extremely barebones. I'll make some edits along those lines. Anyone have any other ideas? I feel like this page and its images should be updated, since the last revision was on January 2018. More features were added that should be written here, like the DSU Client as well as the motion input menus. I took some screenshots of the current build (5.0-11816) to upload to the wiki, but I didn't want to do anything before asking. Is it a good idea? GC Mic

It would be good if we could provide some description around the "Mic" option under the GC controller settings. I've never been clear on it's purpose, but have been presuming it's a mic on/off switch. Kolano (talk) 20:58, 17 October 2013 (CEST)
