To ask the questions that need to be asked here:

  • "Environment Setup" is a misnomer. Setup implies something you need to do before using the application. Yet this is all things users don't have to (and typically don't) mess with, and many aren't even related to environment related at all? The name needs work! Maybe something like, advanced customization? Advanced controls? None of those really hold all of what's on here, though...
  • How do these articles benefit from being merged like this? Just because they are short doesn't mean they need to be consolidated, they need to benefit in some way by being together. And I don't see how they benefit exactly? It seems unlikely to me that anyone coming for one of these options will care about the others, and it makes linking and discovering those options more complicated.

You're probably right, it'd be better to not consolidate these things together because that the user would only cares about few options and not other. Though the beneficial of merging them together is to have a go-to guide page when they need to configure something. The short articles feel fragmented and usually easy to lose somewhere in Wiki.
What a good name, I don't know. I guess they don't need to merge together yet if we cannot think of good article name. "Advanced Controls" synonymous with configuring controllers, "Advanced Customization" doesn't feel right, and I'd want to give Controlling the Global User Directory an overhaul. If I was going to name it for my offline use, I'd simply pull it into my "F:\Dolphin ꊱ Wii\Dolphin ꊱ Wii.txt" file. \Dolphin ꊱ Wii\ and other folders like "Super Mario 64" on root is an emulation/hacking needs folder, or a "support" type folder, their actual executable/disk-image files are in F:\Emulators\Dolphin\ and F:\Nintendo 64\ respectively. I try not to bother thinking of file and folder names like \ROMs\ because there are ISO files, for example. It just sucks that this article needs a proper name. Okay, so, I've tried my best deprecating this article, many were move into Help:Contents and replaced lot of things in Controlling the Global User Directory. I wasn't accustomed to how Help:Contents turns out. What do you think? Lucario (talk) 04:07, 7 February 2018 (CET)
Having the command line options in Help:contents is not ideal imo, as it is place to go to go elsewhere for help, but it was a tiny tiny article, so eh, I guess it's fine. You removed too much from the controlling the global user directory article, but otherwise I'm fine with this arrangement. - MayImilae (talk) 06:02, 26 February 2018 (CET)
I was going to take Controlling the Global User Directory as tutorial page for Windows PC only, then the help:contents will cover the command line options and portable.txt for all systems. Also, if you're okay with the changes I've made, you can delete Dolphin Environment Setup. Lucario (talk) 06:56, 26 February 2018 (CET)
