DreamWorks Madagascar vs Madagascar

I'm converting my GC dumps to NKIT format and noticed that, by using the Redump DAT file, my dump of this game get renamed to "DreamWorks Madagascar". Upon looking at Redump's websites, there are several other games with the DreamWorks prefix too (DreamWorks & Aardman Flushed Away, DreamWorks Over the Hedge, DreamWorks Shark Tale, DreamWorks Shrek: Smash n' Crash Racing, DreamWorks Shrek: SuperSlam). So, what do you think? Which name is the "offical" name? Should we create some redirects for these alternate names? mbc07 (talk) 07:43, 30 November 2019 (CET)

I think we've tended to go with the title as shown on the sleeve of titles, which tends to strip out the excess titles and other oddities shown on the cover poster. Madagascar's can be seen here and indicates just "Madagascar". Redirects would probably be appropriate though.
That said, the current handling may be inappropriate for some of the other titles in your list, who's sleeves seem to include the "Dreamworks": Over The Hedge, Flushed Away, Smash n' Crash Racing, SuperSlam. Though the lack of consistency between titles will really bug me, so this may need further discussion. Kolano (talk) 00:32, 2 December 2019 (CET)
I don't think it's really that crucial as long as the title isn't wrong (e.g. matches the cover either on the front or sleeve) and any alternatives are redirected as mentioned. There's a lot of Disney games that use this same title format too then Epic Mickey doesn't as another example. If the titles are based off the sleeves consistently then that's pretty good, I didn't know that, also y'know it kind of makes sense in terms of sorting the pages to go by the edge labels, since it's like having a real collection. Maybe the sleeve edge title standard should be added to the conventions page or something? For my 2c I think I like going by the front cover full title a little bit more, or maybe by the title used in advertising? though in ads the title probably also contains the Disney or DreamWorks stamp regardless... - Xerxes (talk) 01:56, 2 December 2019 (CET)
