In True Crime: Streets of LA as Nick Kang, your brutal reputation and lethal skills have landed you a nasty job: heading up an undercover task force to stop the Chinese and Russian gangs from terrorizing Los Angeles. Drive, fight, and blast your way through a massive array of unpredictable missions, using stealth techniques, martial arts moves, and an ask-questions-later arsenal. True Crime features a branching storyline that gives you the freedom to complete missions as you choose and face the consequences later. The hardcore streets of L.A. have met their match.
Emulation Information
16:9
True Crime: Streets of LA has a native 16:9 display option, but it requires enabling it in its internal options and setting Dolphin's Aspect Ratio graphics setting to "Force 16:9". Using the widescreen hack with this title is not recommended.
Problems
Texture Flicker
Some textures will randomly load late, or flicker in the distance. Minor graphical issues.
Videos
Pre-rendered videos will display nothing but a black screen with default settings. Real XFB solves the issue, but this locks the game at 1x resolution. Fixed with Hybrid XFB in 5.0-5874.
Configuration
No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title.
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with True Crime: Streets of LA since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
5.0 | Windows 10 | AMD FX-6300 @ 3.8 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | Minor slow downs, used the CPU clock under advanced settings and set it to 82% and worked fine there, with only 1-5 frame drops in certain areas. | Wildlink123 |
5.0-4305 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | Playable at full speed with default settings. Needs Real XFB for intro videos to display. Make sure if you've been copying over your Dolphin install for awhile to instead delete your old folder completely and copy over fresh, as this game had old bad default settings which were causing crashing and invisible menus until I did a clean install. Played a few missions and goofed around in the open world, and everything seemed fine. | Xerxes |
