Editing Error
Don't know if you're aware but I tried making two (now three with this message) edits today and both of them returned an error and are not appearing on the Recent Changes page, though the edits are being saved. See here and here for my recent edits. I don't know if you'll need to rollback or what but I thought I should tell you. - Xerxes (talk) 22:00, 23 October 2019 (CEST)
: I fixed the issue, it was caused by enabling HTTP caching support in Mediawiki yesterday and missing that it needs the PHP sockets extension also enabled. Let me know (via IRC or email preferably) if there are any other new issues of the kind. --delroth (talk) 11:51, 24 October 2019 (CEST)

Category:Google (Publisher) deleted
Why did you delete this category? Flacs (talk) 21:50, 7 June 2020 (CEST)
Because it was empty and I was unaware of any product published by Google. Though looking at the Channel we fail to capture a dev / publisher there, where it may be appropriate. Even so, that may only populate the Google (Developer) category. It's weird cause we so inconsistently capture the dev / publisher info for channels, I believe likely due to it being difficult to determine for most of them, since info on the channels isn't tracked similarly to games on external sites. Regions and Games

1. Should we add regional names to the Gamecube game list if there are differences? (English, Japanese, French...)

Generally yes, though we may want avoid doing so in the case of exact translations to avoid listing 5+ EU translations of each name. Kolano (talk) 17:13, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
Okay (talk) 19:28, 8 August 2018 (CEST)

2. Should we all regional names to the wiki pages if there are differences?

Again, generally yes, but be cautious of listing exact translations. Kolano (talk) 17:13, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
Alright (talk) 19:28, 8 August 2018 (CEST)

3. Should we add regions like French (FR), Spanish(SP) etc. to the 'vgrelease' list for possible different release dates and country exclusive releases?

Generally we just list the earliest EU release date, but may want to consider listing more dates when there are differences. Would be good to understand how frequently such comes up. Such would also likely require rewriting how some of the vgrelease template logic works. Kolano (talk) 17:13, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
I will contact you when I have a complete list of dates. (talk) 19:28, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
It's really easy to add/remove regions from vgrelease so I added SP/FR for you. It doesn't affect any current pages to add them either. You can see it in the infobox on Dummy Page if you want. We might also want to do a generic year (and month) under "EU" alongside those and NL with more regions but idk it seems kind of pointless. That requires knowing separate release dates for French and Spanish releases though and I think only GameTDB has dates for particular regions in Europe? GameFAQS just says EU as far as I remember. - Xerxes (talk) 09:57, 11 August 2018 (CEST)
Aren't there also German specific releases (and perhaps a few others)? Kolano (talk) 09:59, 11 August 2018 (CEST)
Yeah we could match the regions in GameIDs with the regions in vgrelease, but that would take a long time to sort through all the IDs again and I'm lazy. - Xerxes (talk) 10:05, 11 August 2018 (CEST)
I added Germany, Italy, Scandinavia, and Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau too. - Xerxes (talk) 10:29, 11 August 2018 (CEST)
Thank you for the effort! There are lots of old gaming magazines out there with release dates of the Gamecube era. I know some German websites I can search on. I can figure out other countries thanks to google translator. I figured some Korean and Japanese dates out with that method. One '2 in 1 Games' collection for the Gamecube is a German exclusive (The one with only one GID). Kimishima (talk) 15:49, 11 August 2018 (CEST)
It should be possible to use some dpl rules to quickly generate lists of titles with region specific GameIDs (refer the "Samples" column on the GameIDs page), which should allow titles needing edits to be quickly identified; though finding all the appropriate dates may still be a pain. 18:00, 11 August 2018 (CEST)

I have a small question. I saw you changed my GE edits to DE, which I am personally all for. Why do GE and DE redirect you to the German page? As on the Dummy Page. Seems funny to me. EDIT: DE made problems on 2 Games in 1: The Incredibles / Finding Nemo: maximum number of loops has been performed.

Looks like I had missed a few GE references that needed to be revised to DE. Kolano (talk) 00:37, 14 August 2018 (CEST)
Thanks for fixing it. Kimishima (talk) 20:01, 14 August 2018 (CEST)

4. Should we alter the 'CompatListHeader' to include French (FR), Spanish (SP), Swedish (SW), Netherlandish (NE), Italian (IT) and German (GE)?

I think there are likely a few others to include, refer GameIDs#Region_Code, but I also think Dolphin generally lumps many of those under it's EU label (i.e. I believe they get an EU flag banner in the UI). This wouldn't just be about updating that template as we'd also need to break things out differently in the Region column of each title list, which will be significant effort that we may want to avoid. Kolano (talk) 17:13, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
Dolphin separates them. A German game will show a German flag, French games the French flag etc. (with [these] codes. Here a picture (Uploaded to Twitter) Kimishima (talk) 19:28, 8 August 2018 (CEST)
