Tried to access the forum sometime ago and suddenly it says I'm banned. Sounds like that pesky IP bug + someone using the purge spammer button. Not sure if you're aware but I think it's work mentioning (I would go to IRC instead but I can't at the moment)... - mbc07 (talk) 18:41, 22 June 2016 (CEST)

Brandondorf9999 drives me crazy. He comes on at totally random, changes a bunch of things with what he thinks is better, and then leaves! Especially annoying is his weird desire to change problem images with what he thinks is "better". Most recently is the Super Mario Sunshine, but there are tons more in his history. His weird enjoyment of being zoomed out is bizzare, and though he's totally welcome to use that if he wants to, changing problem images to his preferences is not cool!
Per IRC, there is apparently a problem with the Dolphin forum site atm. They are looking into it.Kolano (talk) 19:00, 22 June 2016 (CEST)

It got so bad he was nearly banned once, so he disappeared, and came back months later and did it again! Then he disappeared and came back yet again this month and did it some more!
Adding JMC4789 to sysop group
Ugh! We've already tried communicating, so I don't know what to do. I think we need to consider banning. I don't know where to place this discussion so I'm hosting it here, we can move it wherever we need to. - MaJoR (talk) 04:45, 18 March 2015 (CET)
I always thought JMC4789 already had sysop privileges (aka administrator) here, but that seems to not be the case, as I noticed today. I think we should promote him... - mbc07 (talk) 00:36, 12 July 2016 (CEST)

:Ok, well, even as I was working on this, he did it to two more mario sunshine images! So I blocked him. I set it to two weeks, but we should discuss the length here. - MaJoR (talk) 04:56, 18 March 2015 (CET)
:I don't really agree... I mean, he's someone I've known for a long time, and a good friend, but... he is a stubborn and determined individual. It's kind of his strongsuit - he jumps in and gets things done and moves on. But there is some complications to that kind of personality. He doesn't respond well to consensus and complex discussions, he gets frustrated by beauracracy and just wants everything out of the way so he can work. And I can't imagine him responding well to the consensus turning against him; I think he'd either blast everyone and do it anyway or just go f you and quit the wiki. Working on his own testing games is where he can really shine, with little to no restrictions and total freedom to channel his incredible energy toward a great goal. I guess I just don't think wiki administration is a good fit for him. It usually requires someone who is reserved and patient, while he is bold and determined, and easily frustrated.  I don't think just making things more convenient is a good reason for such a move. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with the position. - MayImilae (talk) 01:04, 12 July 2016 (CEST)

:Agreed that user has a history of problematic image edits, and that it's not clear his few valid submissions merit dealing with all the problem ones. No problem with the pre-existing ban, and would be OK with a longer one.Kolano (talk) 06:08, 18 March 2015 (CET)
:: Now that you brought the roles and tasks of a wiki admin to the table, that makes sense. However I was thinking more about granting him permission to edit protected pages without needing to ask us first when I suggested that, not to actually make him act as a sysop (more like you're a "backup" admin at the forums, for example), so it's probably worth considering it? Another useful scenario I see, for example, is when we get random users that get into editing fights with erroneous or wrong info. On those cases we lock the page, and that would also kick out JMC47 of that protected page even through there's a good chance of him having correct info or tests to back up the info he might have about a game. - mbc07 (talk) 01:57, 12 July 2016 (CEST)

:That's stupid, he's breaking our conventions again, I also agree increasing ban time, to at least one month or more. If the same occur again, perma-ban is what I vote for, seen that's the 3rd time we're having problems with his edits. - Jhonn (talk)
::: Hmmm, maybe, we'd need to make it clear though. Let's see what Kolano thinks! - MayImilae (talk) 03:20, 12 July 2016 (CEST)

:I changed the ban to one month. That works for me. I guess all that's left now is the question of what to do about those weird zoomed out screenshots... - MaJoR (talk) 08:47, 18 March 2015 (CET)

::Well, I vote for reverting them when possible and either remove or get proper versions of the new ones he uploaded. If it's just Super Mario Sunshine or another game that I own, I can help with that...  - Jhonn (talk)

I didn't just create those redirects for the sake of it. The two you deleted are the names of games from some other region. If you think they are too generic, should we have a disambiguation edited into the page? Bust-a-Move and [[Bass Fishing Wii], here's the proof I have that the pages need to exist in some capacity here on Dolphin Wiki: here and here respectively. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 21:56, 26 April 2015 (CEST)

Adding JMC4789 to sysop group

I don't really agree...
Now that you brought the roles and tasks of a wiki admin to the table, that makes sense.
