Image Template -Thumbnail Size

How does one control image size with the Image Template? The documentation doesn't say. And can the video gallery and youtube templates do it as well? - MaJoR (talk) 07:14, 15 November 2012 (CET)

It's hardcoded in the template... You'll need to change it directly in the template source code (here is the source of Image template). The video gallery just embed youtube template, so, to change video thumbnail size you only need to edit the source code of YouTube template, the changes will be automatically reflected in the Video Gallery. If necessary, I could add an option to override the hardcoded value through the 4th parameter, from both Image and YouTube template, but the best would be having the standard size (that haven't been defined yet) hardcoded directly in the templates, avoiding unnecessary parameters...

Also, to prevent breaking up the truncate caption function, you'll need to change 2 tags in the source (both youtube and image): the first parameter (currently at 300px) need to be changed to the desired size (for example, 200px). The second parameter (currently set at 275px) need to be changed to the desired size minus 25px (from the 200px example, this should be 175px -- 200px minus 25px)

Well, if we are going to have a smaller thumbnail size for screenshots, an option to change the size of the screenshots on the fly would allow us to revert back to the standard image size for other things, like bug images. But I guess it isn't really necessary; the point of the template is to make big changes across the board easily, and we don't need that for bug images. I'd think an additional "type" parameter might work best. We'd default to screenshot size, but then allow alternate sizes for other types of images, and would be able to set the size across them easily (which I believe is the whole point of the image template).Kolano (talk) 05:09, 16 November 2012 (CET)

Video Gallery

Something seems to have recently broken the various video related templates, which now seem to show a blank rather than a preview image. Mainly noticed with YouTube video, not clear if it's related to your recent Video Gallery updates or not. Kolano (talk) 22:13, 30 June 2013 (CEST)

Any page using YouTube videos seems to have the issue for me. For instance:

Yeah, it's odd. Apparently it is browser specific though, as things seem to show up correctly in Chrome. Maybe you're right that the timing of the HTTPS transition may be more relevant. Actually it does seem odd that I'm not seeing warnings related to mixed content, given that we now seem to mix HTTP and HTTPS requests. Not sure about the other video services, but YouTube will provide HTTPS links, so we should probably swap to using those (regardless if that fixes the thumbnails issue). Super Paper Mario

Uh Oh (Global Problem won't delete)

I deleted the controller issues problem from Template:GlobalProblems/Virtual_Console and uh, it's still there. There's no GlobalProblems/VC anymore, and I shift-reloaded several times. I don't know where it's getting it from. HALP! - MaJoR (talk) 06:29, 13 August 2013 (CEST)

I don't see it? It was likely resolved by the time I got here. For templates that are deployed to many pages with different parameters it can take a long time for the Wiki to work through reprocessing them all. Used to irk me when making updates to the infoboxes to generate categories. I'd need to update the template and then come back 15-30min later to see the final outcome. Wii Network

You've always been the one keeping things maintain with wii network related stuff, like Just Dance series and the like. How familiar are you with it? Delroth has requested documentation on dumping certs and setting up wii network now that the branch has been merged. I can do the documentation myself without too much problem (in theory at least...), but since you've been handling this stuff up till now, do you want to work together on it? Collapsible Sections

I need a little help... I want to make the Forcing the Toshiba Drivers onto the Adapter section collapsible. Specifically, everything under the warning. But I'd like something a little more obvious than what the testing template does. Something that says "click here to expand" or something, bigger and easier to spot. I could probably hunt down some obscure template on wikipedia and implement it, but uh, I'm SWAMPED. Between 4.0 and school kicking back in I'm behind on everything and struggling to keep up.
