Missing GameConfig ini files

Will missing ini files be created if I add redirection pages on the wiki? I guess there's another process, like filing issues in the google code project. -- Nolendil (talk) 04:04, 8 December 2012 (CET)

Nope. The devs do periodic GameINI updates, with settings they pick. If you put the info on here, it could be a useful reference though. - MayImilae (talk) 13:09, 8 December 2012 (CET)

I keep track of redirection pages I created or fixed on my user page. Would that work? -- Nolendil (talk) 18:22, 8 December 2012 (CET)

Hmm. There could be quite a few... How about this. I can tell the devs about it and show them the list, but it would need to be enough to make it worth their time. Find as many as you can, let me know when you are done, and I'll show it to the devs. They may not do it immediately so make sure you don't take the list down. - MayImilae (talk) 06:30, 9 December 2012 (CET)

Thanks for your suggestion.
However, I realized that, contrary to what I first though, missing redirection pages have no direct link with missing Ini files. They probably had in the beginning since a script created the redirection pages (supposedly from the ini files) but, since then, changes were independently made on both sides.
Examples:

  • Commit 0c33891aa186288395a6a25a889b9015ad6f9044[1] added /Data/User/GameConfig/G9TF52.ini but the page for G9TF52 didn't exist until I created it.
  • I added the GLSD64 redirection page but GLSD64.ini doesn't exists in the GameConfig repository[2]

So, there are holes on both sides and to do this properly, I would have to go through a whole different process: using a database with (hopefully) all game IDs (e.g. http://www.gametdb.com/Wii/) as reference and comparing it with both the GameConfig directory content and existing redirection pages.
However, it's a much more tedious process unless I take the time to make a script to do it (which would be smarter). And that's where I wonder if the devs already have a system... Could you ask them if I should try and do it or if I would waste my time because it's already managed? (Or I will ask in the forum myself, if that's the best communication channel.)
PS: I also saw your attempt to put a category on Game ID pages, that's an interesting idea.

Spam reporting

I saw a spammer but I don't know how to report him. The spammer is Sseth23 and he created this page. -- Nolendil (talk) 04:55, 8 December 2012 (CET)

Another spammer, Hugaulke8, posted this. -- Nolendil (talk) 06:42, 8 December 2012 (CET)

Yep, they've been taken care of. Just to be replaced by the next in line. Kolano (talk) 07:49, 8 December 2012 (CET)

Thanks for taking care of them. -- Nolendil (talk) 18:24, 8 December 2012 (CET)
