Wii Sports Resort (Wii スポーツ リゾート Wii Supōtsu Rizōto?) is a sports video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console, and is the successor to Wii Sports. It is one of the first titles to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is bundled with the game. While the game was originally released only as a stand-alone title, as of 2009 the game is bundled with newer Wii consoles, along with Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Resort is a collection of twelve sports games, which includes enhanced games from Wii Sports along with completely new selections, designed to take advantage of the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus, and Nunchuk. Like Wii Sports, players mimic the actions performed in real life sports, but are played with greater accuracy thanks to the precision capabilities of the Wii MotionPlus in order to provide a more immersive experience.

Problems

Wii Motion Plus

Wii Sports Resort requires the Wii Motion Plus add-on. Dolphin is currently not capable of emulating the wii motion plus; the only way for dolphin to play this game is to use a real, physical Wii remote with Wii Motion Plus. See issue 3446.

  • Pre-3.0 revisions of Dolphin had rudimentary Wii Motion Plus emulation, but it does not work properly, lacking calibration and constantly disconnecting.
  • Development of proper Wii Motion Plus emulation is underway. See the forum for details.

Hangs

Random hangs occur, refer issue 2579. Reproducible hangs occur when attempting to view the intro instructional video, refer issue 3586.

Textures Flicker

Some texture flicker black, refer issue 3614.

Basketball/Pickup Game Broken Input

In the Basketball/Pickup Game real Wii Remote button B doesn't work, refer issue 3619.

Mii Faces

The faces of Mii's may be missing eyes or other attributes if EFB to Texture is used, refer issue 2112.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
