XG3: Extreme G Racing, or XGIII, or more commonly known as Extreme-G 3, is a futuristic racing game for the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2. It was developed by Acclaim Cheltenham and published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was released for the PlayStation 2 in North America on August 21, 2001, in Europe on August 31, 2001, and in Japan on September 12, 2002. It was released for the GameCube in North America on November 27, 2001, in Europe on May 3, 2002, and in Japan on March 15, 2002.

Problems

Hanging

On revisions higher than r4314 special settings need to be used to avoid hanging on a black screen before the title screen appears. The PAL version can be started if Vsync and FPS Throttle are Off and Audio Throttle is On to control the speed, but such doesn't work for the NTSC version.

Correction: The above is no longer true (if it ever was, I don't know). "Enable Idle Skipping" in the General config simply needs to be OFF for the game to work in later revisions like 3.0-721-dirty. Nothing else needs to be set for this game to work flawless.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
