:AFAIK Wii Network emulation shows itself as an USB LAN Adapter for the emulated softwares, that's probably why a real USB LAN Adapter doesn't work. : Yes, Dolphin's IOS Ethernet code directly connects to the Internet, unlike the original IOS, which uses /dev/usb/ven (yes, it can be used internally as well) to communicate with a real Ethernet adapter.
