(It LITERALLY says right there Dolphin's widescreen hack causes CLIPPING issues. Clipping is when objects on the left and right side of the screen disappear when they're near the edge.)

A better solution than the above is to switch to OpenGL graphic backend. Whenever an explosion occurs in the game, the white stripes will appear, so the player can Alt + Enter to fullscreen to make the white stripes disappear until they appear again.
