This channel allows the user to launch [[Wii]] or [[Gamecube]] games from the disk drive of the Wii. Ideally, the functionality of this channel inside Dolphin would include: The launching of any Wii or Gamecube game without the "Unknown Pointer" or "Unable to read the disc" errors appearing. Currently (r7598) functionality is reduced to viewing the currently "inserted" disc by setting the Default ISO path: Options => Configure... => Paths, and changing the currently "inserted" disc by using the "Change Disc..." option: File => Change Disc.... | This channel allows the user to launch [[Wii]] or [[Gamecube]] games from the disk drive of the Wii. Opening an ISO: File => Open..., pressing the Home button, selecting "Wii Menu" and selecting "Yes" to the "Return to Wii Menu?" dialog works correctly; provided a Wii System Menu is currently installed. Although, some revisions may give the following error if the "Use Panic Handlers" are on: "Unknown pointer 0xffffffff Continue?". However, Dolphin doesn't fully emulate the Device_ES functions, so the Disc Channel will show the message below if a GameCube ISO is set as the default ISO in Dolphin settings, or if you start the Wii Menu and use the "Change Disc" option under the File menu in Dolphin to select a Wii ISO whose region does not match the installed Wii System Menu. | |||
