A Wii version of the ''Resident Evil'' remake originally released for the GameCube was released in Japan on December 25, 2008. As with the previous Wii versions of ''Resident Evil 4'' and ''Resident Evil Zero'', the game saw minimal changes in its transition to the Wii. The Wii version was released in North America and Europe in June 2009 under the title ''Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil''. IGN gave the Wii version an 8/10.
