I haven't tried, but you can try! I have a quick guide for you and please tell me if you made it.
#Go to [http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other SDK Tools Only] and download one for your system.
#Unzip it, then find and extract a file named mksdcard from \tools\ to elsewhere.
#Then type in terminal: <code>mksdcard 2048M sd.raw</code> (confirmed on Windows, but same goes for Linux / OS X? [http://developer.android.com/tools/help/mksdcard.html More command information])
