The ''''' Wii Startup Menu'''''  was a System Install Menu (Stub System Menu) used for the Wii in kiosk demos. It came with a disc containing a system update for the console, seemingly intended to be shipped with the launch Wii units. While there exist large amounts of evidence for its existence, the physical disc has not been found, nor has a rip of it been found. However, a NAND dump of a console with the startup disc message has been found due to some early Wii's shipping with it accidentally.  It seems to only run discs with a RAAE  ID.
The '''''Wii Startup Menu'''''  was a semi-stub System Menu title used to install updates on early kiosk demo Wiis, using a disc known as the "Wii Startup Disc". This disc contained a system update for the console, seemingly originally intended to be shipped with retail launch Wii units. While there exist large amounts of evidence for its existence, the physical disc remains lost. However, as some early Wiis shipped with the Startup Menu but no Startup Disc, a NAND dump of the menu has been recovered.
All Credits Go To Bushing From Hackmii for the dumping and testing of the NAND.

=== Doesn't Boot ===

The NAND System Menu seems to require IOS4V3 and, since it's not implemented yet, it just hangs at a black screen. Dolphin 4.0 seems to be able to boot the Menu but lacks support for detecting update partitions, rendering the menu useless.
=== "Checking Disc" loop ===
When no disc is inserted, the menu continually changes to the "Checking Disc" screen, then back to the "Please insert..." screen. The menu functions normally once a disc is inserted.

=== <s>Doesn't Boot</s> ===
The Startup Menu uses IOS4v3, which Dolphin did not implement, causing it to hang at a black screen. Some revisions of Dolphin, starting with revisions before {{revision|5.0-2127}}, seem to be able to boot the menu, but lack support for detecting update partitions, rendering preservation of the unknown parts of the menu impossible. After revision {{revision|5.0-4647}} the menu boots again.

=== <s>HLE Audio</s> ===
The Startup Menu fails to boot with HLE audio emulation; changing to DSP LLE recompiler in config will allow it to work properly. See {{PR|5763}}. Now this setting has been enforced by INI in {{revision|5.0-5022}} and later.
