=== Fire and Heat Effects ===
In Wind Waker, the various fire effects are glitched, resulting in a odd doubling of portions of the screen exposed to the heat effect. These heat effects are used in many places, like Dragon Roost Cavern and hanging torches. The glitches can be fixed by checking "EFB Copies - Disable" to disable the heat effect entirely, but this also disables dozens of effects used throughout the game. This is the only known solution to this problem, and it is not recommended.

Heat waves are also glitched, resulting in extremely distorted views in many areas containing intense heat or lava, particularly Dragon Roost Cavern. The distortion can be somewhat suppressed by disabling the widescreen hack. A partial fix can be applied by enabling free look and zooming in the camera significantly. After zooming in, manipulate the in-game camera and it will revert back behind Link correctly, although in a somewhat zoomed-in state. This will effectively put the heat distortions behind you, while still enabling you to see the game's events correctly. Using this fix will result in some scenes displaying incorrectly until the free look camera is reset with Shift + R, but for the most part it is an effective fix for areas with prolonged exposure to the glitched heat waves.
