Like previous Mario Party titles, four players take part in each game, composed of a virtual board, and move around a variety of themed lands to collect stars, while avoiding certain spaces. However, Mario Party 9 has all the players moving around the board together in a vehicle. The game also has a boss battle at the end of each level.
Problems
Flinger Painting
The minigame "Flinger Painting" displays no paint. The results are always 0.00% for all players and always results in a draw. This can be fixed by disabling EFB Copies to Texture Only.
Enhancements
21:9 Aspect Ratio Fix
The built-in Widescreen Hack causes indirect texture and clipping issues. The following Gecko code works as a replacement, causing less issues. To avoid conflicts, make sure that Widescreen Hack is disabled while using this code.
