Problems
Crashing
Crashes occur in cutscenes and when continuing. Many cutscenes can be skipped, but there are some mid boss battle cutscenes that you cannot skip at all, albeit these are very short. To fix this, use the DSP LLE audio engine; people talk in game and cause the crash since the emulator can't handle it. (This may need further testing).
Error Message
On startup, several of the following two messages appear:
Message 1: BackPatch: Base reg not RBX Attempted to access 3f47e054
Message 2: BackPatch: currently only supports reads Attempted to write to 3f47e054
Battle Glitches
- When fighting the Cyborg Ninja for the first time the boss will glitch while kneeling,
making it impossible to continue since you cannot further damage him while he's kneeling. Also when fighting the Cyborg Ninja, in the fight scene that you can't skip, where he says "Now he can fight like warriors only fools trust their life to a weapon" the game can glitch and he will either run out of the scene when the battle is supposed to start but because of the glitch it will stay and a semi-scene and you cannot continue the boss battle. Final one is also similar when he says "Try and Find me" he will turn on stealth, jump, but then the game will loop and his will jump back into the scene without saying anything and the game will continue to loop untill you restart the game.
- When fighting Psycho Mantis the same can happen as with the Cyborg Ninja in terms of the unskippable scene.
Note: You cannot skip these "cutscenes", Though they are short I had to restart the game about 5 times.
Thermal Goggles
- Wearing Thermal Goggles turns the whole screen blue making it impossible to see, both in first and third person modes. Thermal Goggles will work fairly well setting EFB Copies to RAM, on Graphics Configuration>Hacks.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.

style="white-space:nowrap;Expression error: Unrecognized word "r".Expression error: Unrecognized word "r". | Windows 7 x64 | Pentium E6300 @ 3.3GHz | ATI Radeon HD 4850 | Stable and very close to solid 60 FPS (except in cutscenes) with HLE XAudio2, Fast Safe Texture Cache, and Lock Threads to Cores. | axfelix |
r7310 | Windows 7 x86 | Intel Pentium E5300 @ 2.6GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5450 | Good,you have to enable MMU hack or the game crash at the title, the game don't have any problem but i can play at 30 FPS--> 60% speed with DX9 plug-in | Markon89 |
r7387 | Windows 7 x86 | Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 @ 2.13GHz | nVidia GeForce G210M | Bad, working better in OpenGL mode. Anyway, FPS meter says 28 FPS but game have a weird -annoying- slowdown; minor sound glitches and nano-communication background texture generally turns in a bad, green color | bfrheostat |
r7393 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8GHz | nVidia GeForce 9600 GT | Speed 70-100% FPS 25-50 DX9 plugin, good emulation and very playable | Licous |
r7571 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core i7-920 @ 4.8GHz | nVidia GeForce GTX 480 | No problem but very big crash in cutscene | YaruM |
r7671 | Windows 7 x64 | AMD Athlon X3 455 @ 3.5GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6850 | Above average, minor sound skipping in the cutscenes when frames drop, no crashes or error messages encountered, some transparency problems around certain objects in game, 50-60FPS | otomo |
r7690 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 | nVidia GeForce 9800M GTS | No Problems, but only 35-60 FPS!
^r7683 | Windows 7 x86 | AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5770 | Bad, codec conversations stops after some seconds, sound glitches, game crash in cutscenes, 30-50FPS | 0005 |
^3.0 | Windows 7 x64 | AMD Phenom II 1055t @ 3.5GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6870 | Fully Playable 55-60fps with very minor visual artifacts on some cutscenes. Sound is buggy most of the time, even when using the LLE engine. HLE sounds better during general gameplay but LLE fixes the crashes during cutscenes. Using DX9 with with cache display lists and OpenMP texture decoder enabled.
3.0-201 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3GHz | nVidia GeForce 470 GTX | Playable, no cutscene crashes. Texture Glitches on closeups. Overall Music and sound glitches, heavy sound glitches and major slowdown on alert and weapon firing, also sound (+subtitles(!)) lags behind in cutscenes; Audio/FPS throttle doesn't fix this. 50-60FPS
3.0-373 | Mac OS X 10.7.2 | Intel Core i7-2675QM @ 2.2GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6750M | Playable. 47-60fps. Little to no slowdown during the introduction or first section of the game in the heliport. | jedivulcan |
3.0-377 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 4.23GHz | nVidia GeForce GTX 285 2GB | Playable. Mostly smooth, with occasional slowdown. Music cuts out frequently, sometimes permanently, and sound and music crackles. | Lycan |
3.0-458 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core i7-2600k @ 3.40GHz | nVidia GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB | Full speed gameplay, but cutscenes freeze after a few seconds and the sound is glitchy. Though I'm using the default Dolphin download with no modifications whatsoever. | Gwame |
3.0-688 | Mac OS X 10.7.4 | Intel Core i7-2675QM @ 2.2GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6750M | Playable. Slow in a lot of areas. Shutters. Audio glitches. I really question what kind of drugs I was on to comment that this worked really well on revision 373. | jedivulcan |
3.0-710 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz | nVidia GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB | Full speed gameplay with accurate vbeam emulation enabled. FPS is heavily CPU dependent, but constant enough to be very playable. The issue where sound skips/cuts out during cutscenes can be fixed by either using DSP LLE or changing the backend to Xaudio2 if you want to use HLE Emulation. | Whall005 |
3.0-739 | Windows 7 x64 | AMD FX 4100 @ 4.22Ghz | Zotac nVidia GT 520 Synergy Edition 1GB | Full speed gameplay with accurate vbeam emulation enabled. FPS 59.9-60FPs at all times with no decrease, 1600x900 resolution and default settings The issue where sound skips/cuts out during cutscenes can be fixed by either using DSP LLE or changing the backend to Xaudio2 if you want to use HLE Emulation. |
