It is not possible to use instruments in Rock Band 1, as it was made before Harmonix added support for GH/RB Wiimote guitar extensions. Actually the is no way to fix this, a patch is needed or a new hardware option that allows adding a USB passthrough in order for the game to recognize the instrument.
