If the External Frame Buffer is set to Real, after the Nintendo logo at the start of the game, there can sometimes be an odd effect where it seems like you are looking through some window blinds, only in technicolor fashion.  This only happens if the External Frame Buffer under Graphics > Hacks is set to Real, so to fix it just disable it.  This is fixed in the latest builds.
