18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker is a racing game developed by Sega-AM2 and published by Sega. This game was first released in arcades in 2000, but later the game was released to the Dreamcast in 2001, Subsequently, it has been brought to the PlayStation 2 in 2001 and Nintendo GameCube in 2002 by Acclaim Entertainment. Sega followed up on the success of 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker by making a sequel, The King of Route 66 for arcades and PlayStation 2 in 2003.
Initial Black Screen
A black screen occurs post the Sega logo, this can be bypassed by pressing A. This re-occurs post the intro animation.
Odd Looping Audio
Audio loops, typically a recently actuated noise followed by a series of random noises.
Later Black Screens and Crashes
Black screens hinder further progress.
- Shortly into intro animation, as first truck crests the hill
- Post selection of "Arcade" on main menu
- Post driver selection in Arcade mode, prior to getting in game
