Metroid Prime: Trilogy is an action-adventure video game compilation developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. It features Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on a single dual-layer disc. The former two, which were originally released for the Nintendo GameCube, have been updated with many of the features that were first implemented in the latter. It was released in North America on August 24, 2009, Europe on September 4, 2009, and in Australia on October 15, 2009. It comes packaged in a Steelbook case (only available in the North America release), contains an art booklet, and includes other features; it is one of three Wii games to come in a non-white keep case (the others being New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Zangeki no Reginleiv).
Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a three-game collection for the Wii console that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games onto one disc and revamps the first two installments with intuitive Wii Remote controls, wide-screen presentation and other enhancements. Each game maintains its original storyline and settings, but now Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes let players use their Wii Remote to aim with precision as heroine Samus Aran. Based on the breakthrough control system that debuted in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, these new Wii controls bring an entirely new level of immersion and freedom to these milestone games. Players can access the game they want from a unified main menu that ties together all three adventures. Through a new unlockables system, players can gain access to in-game rewards such as music and artwork by accomplishing objectives across all three games.

Constant Wii Remote Disconnects
<!-- Shared problem with other Metroid Prime: Trilogy games -->
When using the MS Bluetooth Stack (the default Bluetooth stack on Windows) the game will think that the Wii Remote is constantly disconnecting. Pressing a button on the Wii Remote will restore it, but it will disconnect again seconds later. Disable Enable Speaker Data to remedy this problem. It's a problem bound to PC hardware and driver, you can also try Bluetooth Passthrough, or follow this Wii Remote -TR Connection Guide anyhow to avoid the MS Bluetooth stack. DolphinBar is another viable solution for this problem.

Problems
Crash on Game Load
{{Problems|{{#vardefineecho:problems|
Emulation crashes when launching any of the games. This happens because Dolphin doesn't support soft-resets/multiple dol files yet. See 233
<s>Save File Hang</s>
As of 5.0-2567 the game will hang on creation of a savefile. To avoid issues, use an older version of Dolphin for now while the regression is worked on. This may only happen on the Windows version of Dolphin, as users on Linux reported no hang. Repaired in 5.0-2577
The problem can be worked around by replacing "main.dol" file in DATA-partition of ISO image to either rs5mp1_p, rs5mp2_p or rs5mp3_p.dol depending on which game you would like to play. All games can be booted using this method. See forums.

Please note that you will still need to use the original Metroid Prime trilogy launcher to create your saved game and choose your difficulty.  The process is...
* Load Metroid Prime Trilogy without any modification
* Create your new game, selecting which of the three games you'd like to play
* Attempt to load the game, which will freeze
* Stop emulation, and do the DOL swap described in this thread
* Start up the modified image, which will load directly into the game using the save you created

You will need to follow this process to play a different game, or a different save file.  Basically, you are emulating the soft-reset that the Wii would usually do by exiting the game, and then loading the correct DOL manually.

Successfully launched Prime 3, used the home button to go back to the main launcher, and then launched Prime 2. Everything works correctly. {{testing/entry|revision=3.5-379|OS=Windows 7|CPU=Intel Core i5-2500K @ 4.3 GHz|GPU=NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 x2|result=100% emulation, there's no stuttering or lagging. Minor problems, such as 3 pixels at the middle of the screen. It's a bit annoying but easy to ignore. NVIDIA GeForce 3D vision isn't working, possibly a Dolphin problem. Settings used: Direct3D9, no AA, no Anisotropic filtering, HLE audio (seems to work right, without any problems), 1440x900 full-screen resolution. Prime 1 and 3 claim that the Wii Remote has disconnected, Prime 3 simply goes black and freezes, with some odd pixels in the center of the screen.
