Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is a World War II video game for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. It was released on November 1, 2005, in Canada and the United States. While developed by Treyarch, personnel from Gray Matter Interactive, who created the Call of Duty: United Offensive expansion pack for the PC, also worked with them on the game. Pi Studios contributed as well.
Problems
Requires Intepreter Mode
This game only runs. very slowly, in interpreter mode. When set on Interpreter mode, only 'Licensed by Nintendo' is seen. No menus, no intros, put aside playability.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
General
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
CPU Emulator Engine | Interpreter | Game won't run in the JIT modes |
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Call of Duty 2: Big Red One since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
r7283 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core i3-2310M @ 2.1GHz | Intel HD Graphics | Cannot run the game in mode interpreter | Honguito98 |
3.0-735 | Windows 7 x64 | Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.2GHz | Intel HD Graphics 3000 | Couldn't get it to run in any mode. Tried interpreter and it showed the "Licensed by Nintendo" screen. That's as far as I could get it to work. | Ramon M |
3.0-776 | Mac OS X 10.7.4 | Intel Core i7 @ 2.2GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6750M | Not playable. Game does not start at all in "JIT Recompiler" mode. Using "Interpreter" mode, the game starts but is *extremely* slow, a lot of patience is needed to actually see something happen. I managed to progress through the "Licensed by Nintendo" screen (wait a minute), the loading screen with a rotating "2" in the bottom right corner (wait several minutes), the autosave warning screen, the copyright screen, the Activision logo video (skipped), 3 other videos (skipped), the "Press Start" screen, the Profile Manager screen, and I gave up on the profile creation screen. Framerate was around 2 fps and speed was around 5%. Tested with default settings (except the mentioned CPU emulator engine changes) and DSP HLE. | Nolendil |
