Resident Evil 4: Wii edition, known in Japan as Biohazard 4: Wii edition (バイオハザード4 Wii edition, Baiohazādo Fō: Wii edition), is a port of Resident Evil 4 for the Wii. The story follows Leon S. Kennedy, who is sent on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the President's daughter, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult. Traveling to a rural village in Europe, he encounters a horde of violent villagers who pledge their lives to the cult.
Unlike previous games in the series, Resident Evil 4 has stronger focus on combat, with many more enemies to deal with. As such, it uses a new third person, over the shoulder combat system for easier aiming. Other changes to the game include context sensitive actions to interact with the environment, and quick-time event cutscenes.
RE4: Wii Edition introduces Wii Remote based aiming controls to the series, allowing for mouse-keyboard style shooting. The Wii edition also features all the additional content from other platforms, with several new side missions, minigames, new costumes, and a movie browser.
Problems
Game Crash in the Castle
There is a section in the castle where there are two switches that Leon and Ashley have to stand on at the same time to activate a crank. The game crashes when Leon tries to step on the switch on the right. This is corrected by choosing the JITIL experimental recompiler. See issue 4576. Fixed by 4.0-1706.
