Pikmin 2 is a real-time strategy video game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. It was released in Japan on April 29, 2004, in North America on August 30, 2004, in Europe on October 8, 2004, and in Australia on November 4, 2004. Pikmin 2 is the sequel to Pikmin, also for the Nintendo GameCube, and is considered an improvement over the previous title, receiving universal acclaim from reviewers. In 2009, both Pikmin games were re-released for the Wii as part of the New Play Control! series.
Problems
Startup
Some users experience a freeze on the intro. Only the Nintendo logo is shown, and the characters don't drop down from above. (See forum post). This issue may occur even if you had it working previously without changing revisions.
If you run into this issue, disable audio, make a save-state after the affected portion, and stop the emulation. Re-enable audio and load the save-state.
Audio
Streaming audio (such as the title screen, file select, and several cinematic sequences) often do not play, or stop playing after a few seconds due to issues with the Audio plugin. This does not affect gameplay directly.
Crash
The credits only end the first half of the game. In order to finish the game one must watch the credits, which crashes emulation. Making the game playable, but not beatable.
Configuration
No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title.
