Live the true story behind the epic legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in King Arthur. Based on the 2004 King Arthur movie from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the King Arthur game lets you take control of one of five heroes, including Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere, each with unique weapons and skills. With three modes of battle, motion-captured fighting sequences and moves, and cutscenes from the film, King Arthur re-creates the events of this legendary tale.
Emulation Information
16:9
King Arthur has a native 16:9 display option, but it requires enabling it in its internal options and setting Dolphin's Aspect Ratio graphics setting to "Force 16:9". Using the widescreen hack with this title is not recommended.
Problems
Menu
Starting with 4.0-2912, on the start menu for King Arthur pressing the left analog stick in any direction causes the menu to continually cycle through all the selections on its own without any further input. This may not occur on Linux. Also since at least 4.0, selecting an option on the start menu and quitting back darkens the screen and places the controls information in the foreground, potentially making it hard to read the selections; this can be worked around by holding "X" as you quit back. See issue 9955.
Secret XP Crash
As of 4.0-5143, the secret experience upgrades (shaped like a scroll) throughout the game will cause an Unknown Opcode error and hang Dolphin when collected. There is no known fix other than avoiding these specific upgrades in the game. This has since been fixed in 5.0-1471; the error will appear, but pressing "OK" allows the game to work normally. Alternatively, panic handlers can be disabled to avoid this.
Off Center
Since at least 4.0.2, graphics throughout the game display smaller than normal and shifted to the left. Enabling Virtual XFB solves the issue. This is now set by default as of 5.0-1471.

Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
4.0-5143 | Ubuntu 14.10 | Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 | Starts. Needs Virtual XFB. The secret XP upgrades cause the game to hang horribly when collected. Water effects and some attack animations look really bad causing extreme stretched textures without EFB to RAM, but EFB to RAM doesn't fully correct the issues either and it drops FPS from 30 to 15-20 while at 100% emulation speed which looks even worse. There's some other graphical issues that seem to be entirely random, like Dolphin rendering garbage at the top of the screen ingame. The gameplay is alright but even at the best of times it likes to drop to 80% speed without warning. | Xerxes |
5.0-1471 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 | Playable. The graphical problems seem to have been solved, Virtual XFB is set by default now, and the game runs full speed. Secret XP upgrades still bring up a panic box but no longer seem to cause Dolphin to hardlock, once you hit OK or disable panic handlers it plays fine. However the start menu for the game scrolls through all the options on its own without any input and generally has messed up controls, but once ingame this isn't an issue. | Xerxes |
