Donkey Kong Country Returns, known as Donkey Kong Returns (ドンキーコング リターンズ?) in Japan, is a side-scrolling 2.5D platform game developed by Retro Studios, and released by Nintendo for the Wii console on November 21, 2010 in North America. It is the series' first traditional home console installment since Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and also the first Donkey Kong Country entry not to involve Rare during the development
Problems
Broken Revisions
The game is broken and will not boot between r5699 and r6460, refer issue 3624.
Random Freezing
Random freezing, particularly during level loading screens, can be corrected by using "Lock threads to core", refer issue 3576.
Low Resolution DK
If "EFB to RAM" is used Donkey Kong will appear blocky and pixelated. Using "EFB to Texture" corrects for this.
Odd Primary Colored Halo
Sometime bananas and other objects get an odd primary colored halo (typically red), refer issue 2068. In game this can be addressed by briefly visiting the Wii home screen and then exiting back to the game, but such doesn't work in the title screens.
Odd Off-putting Sounds
Odd erroneous sounds will sometimes occur, particularly when beginning a level. This can be address by briefly visiting the Wii home screen and then exiting back to the game.
Garbled Text
Garbled text can be fixed using "Fast" Safe Texture Cache.
Cut-off Sound
Sound effects sometimes stop working, but will sometimes restart in later levels.
Configuration
This title does not need non-default settings to run properly.
