F-Zero AX is the arcade version of F-Zero GX. The in-game differences between F-Zero AX and GX lie in particular to their number of vehicles and tracks. Both games have their own exclusive tracks, vehicles and vehicle parts. However, everything in the Triforce version can be unlocked in the GameCube version, Albiet with extreme difficulty.
F-Zero AX is a futuristic racing arcade game developed by Amusement Vision and published by Sega for the Triforce arcade system board. The arcade counterpart to F-Zero GX, the games are closely related, sharing the same engine, art assets, and many of the same racers and tracks. AX even has connectivity with GX by putting a GameCube memory card with a F-Zero GX save into the arcade unit, allowing the player to unlock some AX content in GX.

Two versions of F-Zero AX's arcade cabinet exists: standard and deluxe. The standard version is a regular sit-down model, while the deluxe version is shaped like Captain Falcon's vehicle and has a tilting seat simulating the craft's cockpit. A special third version of AX, "F-Zero Monster Ride", was built by Cycraft and co-developed between Sega and Simuline; it features a cabin suspended in midair for highly accurate motion simulation. Standard cabinets can be linked together to unlock "Versus Play", up to four cabinets can be connected for multiplayer play.
Much of F-Zero AX can be unlocked in the F-Zero GX via AR codes, albeit with extreme difficulty and crash problems.
