Pac-Man World 3 is the third game in the Pac-Man World series and the only one in the trilogy that was not released in Japan. It also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pac-Man arcade game. This game features more fighting and more melee combat than the first two Pac-Man World games. It also features a speaking Pac-Man for the first time.
Problems
Elevator
The elevator in level 4 that unlocks the second platform to reach the first siphon will not run properly with HLE. It will allow you to go down, but will not allow you to go back up. If you use LLE, it works perfectly.
Audio Plays at 2/3 Speed
Audio plays at 2/3 appropriate speed with HLE. Use LLE for accurate sound. Refer issue 7322.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
Audio
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
DSP Emulator Engine | LLE | Allows Level 4 Elevator to work and play sound at appropriate speed |
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Pac-Man World 3 since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
4.0-4478 | Linux Ubuntu 14.04 | Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 | Barely playable. Dialog in-game plays at half speed and crackles without LLE, and with LLE (on thread) the game can go as low as 50% speed in large areas. It's more stable with HLE but not by a whole lot. During the walking animation Pac-Man will sometimes jitter forwards and back which is annoying but it doesn't actually change the gameplay. Otherwise cutscenes, music, physics are okay but it's so slow it doesn't really matter. | Xerxes |
