How to use the Official GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U in Dolphin: Difference between revisions

Jump to navigation Jump to search
As of 5.0-2472, usbdk isn't needed on Windows, due to BSoDs and USB failures reported on Win7. Due to that and due to usbdk having little advantage when only using GC adapters (it has advantages for USB passthrough), I'm making this article suggest Zadig.

If you are using {{revision|5.0-2472}} or newer, you need to either install a filter driver using Zadig or install usbdk. (Doing both is unnecessary, but doesn't lead to any problems.) If you aren't sure which one to pick, use Zadig and follow the instructions below.

==== In 5.0-2352 and newer ====
If you are using {{revision|5.0-2341}} or older, using Zadig is required.
Download and install the latest [https://github.com/daynix/UsbDk/releases x64 usbdk driver].

Note: Installing the usbdk driver <b>does not</b> break compatibility with the zadig driver in older builds. If you are using a third-party adapter that has both a Wii U mode and a PC mode, Dolphin's native support will only work if it's set to Wii U mode.

==== Before 5.0-2352 - Driver Installation with Zadig ====
Plug in the GameCube controller adapter if it hasn't been already. Download and launch [http://zadig.akeo.ie/ Zadig]. If you're using the Mayflash adapter, make sure you switch it to "Wii U" or Zadig won't pick it up properly.
