Boom Blox is a puzzle video game for the Wii console developed by Amblin Interactive in conjunction with film director Steven Spielberg. The game presents a series of physics-based puzzles, the objective being either to keep structures made of blocks from being knocked down or to knock them over by various means, using the Wii Remote to throw, shoot, and grab at the blocks. Boom Blox features a realistic physics system; the angle, speed, and mass of a projectile and even the type and position of the block it hits all influence the results of the action. A sequel to Boom Blox has been released, titled Boom Blox Bash Party.
Problems
Strong Throws
Since 4.0-553 only light throws can be performed with an emulated Wii Remote, use a revision prior to 4.0-553 to correct for this (there may also be ways to correct for it by revising the controller config).
Template:SHangsTemplate:/s
Current revisions hang before gameplay with Dual Core enabled, showing 0FPS and 60VPS. Turn it off and the game will work normally.
Template:SNo MusicTemplate:/s
Music does not work with DSP HLE. Use DSP LLE for fully functional sound and music.
Template:SWiimote LagTemplate:/s
Wiimote has a large amount of lag. "Alternate Wiimote Timings" may help. Fixed and the option removed by 3.5-354.
Configuration
This title does not need non-default settings to run properly.
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Boom Blox since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
4.0-3400 | Windows 8.1 | Intel Core i5-3350P | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti | Perfect 60FPS. No problems, even on Dual Core and HLE audio. However, for some reason, it can only do light throws now. | Marc122 |
