Animal Crossing: City Folk, known in European and Australian markets as Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, is a life simulation video game for the Wii video game console. It is the follow- up to Animal Crossing: Wild World, released for the Nintendo DS in 2005, and is the third game in the Animal Crossing series.
Problems
Hanging Saves
If you have WiiConnect24 enabled, the game will hang when saving and exiting. This can be disabled before entering the world in the in game "Other Things" menu.
Sound Problems
Sometimes there will be audio feedback when walking around town. Just enter a building to make it stop. Some music tracks may crackle lightly as well if using HLE or may be distorted, and strangely HLE can run slower than LLE, but on the other hand HLE can play tracks perfectly with higher performance (like normal) It is really just 50/50. DSP LLE will fix these problems if you have them.
Invisible Fish
Fish are not shown under the water in the Ocean. This started with a revision post 4.0.2, which can be used to avoid this problem. Refer issue 9160.
Pattern Editor
Since r6871 the pattern editor may not work properly without enabling accurate texture cache, refer this forum thread. This may need further investigation as it sometimes seems to work without accurate texture cache enabled in more recent builds.
Template:SYellow BackgroundsTemplate:/s
Yellow backgrounds can appear in the pattern editor, catalog and message editor keypad. May need extra testing doesn't seem to be present in new revisions. Fixed by an unknown revision (before 4.0-5714).
Template:SCameraTemplate:/s
The camera doesn't show pictures. Disabling EFB Copies to Texture Only may correct this. Just use Dolphin's screenshot button to capture images of the game. Fixed by an unknown revision (before 4.0-5714).
Template:STelescope doesn't workTemplate:/s
The observatory's telescope does not work. Fixed by a revision before 3.5-1393.
Template:SWiiMote MenuTemplate:/s
The Wii Motion controller UI never goes away. Fixed by an unknown revision.
